It's my birthday today but we started celebrating last night at Manny's. Today is shaping out to be a lovely day. Faythe Levine is coming to Hallmark and then it's off to SPIN for lunch.

Girl Scout campout

Sophia and I had a great time at her girl scout campout last weekend. She learned about fire building and safety, trail markers, and cooking by the fire. We sang camp songs that brought back old memories of my camping experience as a kid. I hope she will never forget it!

Owl always love them

Ever since I was a kid I adored owls. I started collecting owls about 15 years ago and my collection now consists of over 50 unique ceramic, wooden, and painted canvas owls.

Crafty Chicks preview...

Here is a little somethin', somethin' for you to feast your eyes on. This is just a little taste of what I will sell this year at craft chicks. I am offering recycled goods along with knitted items and crafty supplies for all my crafty friends. ENJOY!

knit happens

I was blown away when I saw these creations by fringe on etsy. I'm not even sure if they are knit or crochet (probably a mixture). With fall approaching, I am excited and inspired to break out the needles, cozy up on the couch, and knit some new patterns.

Wedding Day

Margot and Tim were married May 31st in my parent's backyard. It was a very beautiful "green" wedding. The dresses were something that could be worn again, the flowers came from the garden, and the food was catered by a local lady who uses fresh, organic produce. It was amazing!! Way to go Mom and Dad!


Doesn't Sophie look beautiful? She felt like such a garden fairy.

The spread consisted of salmon, stuffed mushrooms, chicken curry, bruschetta, etc... It was done by a local caterer Evan Williams. AWESOME!!!


The bouquet was gorgeous!! Orchids, hosta, japanese maple- Many of the flowers came from my parent's garden.


Herbs were the favors- rosemary, basil, thyme, and sage

These skirts are the newest rage in Japan. They are not see-thru they are actual screen prints of panties onto fabric. Bet I made you look, huh? Coming to a Wal-Mart near you....

She's arrived!!

I am so stoked! My beautiful big black composter has arrived just in the nick of time because the food scraps I've been collecting in the kitchen are getting pretty stinky. I'm in love......

rain, rain come my way

I am obsessing about organic gardening and have been coveting rain barrels lately (I've officially lost it). I have a composter on the way and with all this forecasted rain I could really use this beauty the next couple of days. Who knows- my birthday is approaching............Hint, Hint. click here

I FINALLY hung the bird pictures in Soph's room this weekend. Her room has taken on a bird/woodlands theme and is still a work in progress (hence the empty Michael's frame). Jen will be proud- I finally hung pictures!
