knit happens

I was blown away when I saw these creations by fringe on etsy. I'm not even sure if they are knit or crochet (probably a mixture). With fall approaching, I am excited and inspired to break out the needles, cozy up on the couch, and knit some new patterns.

inspiration

Sooo...I've been looking around for inspiration for my own artwork. I am still floundering with ideas for the Hallmarker's Give Back charity show in September. I LOVE this illustrator Jen Renningger ! Check her out...

A spot of tea anyone?

What a creative way to reuse something old. I thought this was worth sharing. This lighting is from Domestic Lighting and can be found on Etsy.

Wedding Day

Margot and Tim were married May 31st in my parent's backyard. It was a very beautiful "green" wedding. The dresses were something that could be worn again, the flowers came from the garden, and the food was catered by a local lady who uses fresh, organic produce. It was amazing!! Way to go Mom and Dad!

Doesn't Sophie look beautiful? She felt like such a garden fairy.

Margot and I

The spread consisted of salmon, stuffed mushrooms, chicken curry, bruschetta, etc... It was done by a local caterer Evan Williams. AWESOME!!!

The bouquet was gorgeous!! Orchids, hosta, japanese maple- Many of the flowers came from my parent's garden.

Herbs were the favors- rosemary, basil, thyme, and sage

OMG!!!

Have you ever heard of a litter of 14 puppies? Well, for you non-believer's here is a picture of my dog and her 14 pups. I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry....

Where can I get one of these?

These skirts are the newest rage in Japan. They are not see-thru they are actual screen prints of panties onto fabric. Bet I made you look, huh? Coming to a Wal-Mart near you....

She's arrived!!

I am so stoked! My beautiful big black composter has arrived just in the nick of time because the food scraps I've been collecting in the kitchen are getting pretty stinky. I'm in love......

rain, rain come my way

I am obsessing about organic gardening and have been coveting rain barrels lately (I've officially lost it). I have a composter on the way and with all this forecasted rain I could really use this beauty the next couple of days. Who knows- my birthday is approaching............Hint, Hint. click here

chirp, chirp

I FINALLY hung the bird pictures in Soph's room this weekend. Her room has taken on a bird/woodlands theme and is still a work in progress (hence the empty Michael's frame). Jen will be proud- I finally hung pictures!

hilarious poster series

These posters are a mockery of those ridiculous, horribly designed posters you often see in offices and Mr. Goodcents.
Too funny...

Bippity boppity boo...

Sophie, my Mom and Dad and I just got back from a magical journey to Disney World. We had a fabulous time! I hadn't been there since I was 10 yrs old and let me just say, it was definately a different experience as an adult. Everything was just as I remember it except the crowds and long lines. I guess as a kid you don't think about that stuff. The rides were great, the weather was perfect (somewhat chilly), excellent food, and lots of laughs. We will forever remember this trip. Thanks Mom and Dad!! We love you.

Soph got her face painted at Epcot. We really enjoyed 'Turtle Talk' with Crush and thank god for the Kidcot stops because that was the only thing that kept us all going. Sophie collected icons and stamps from all the countries to put on her mask. It was chilly that day!

We had the great pleasure of seeing Cirque du Soleil's La Nouba. It was phenomenal!! I had to purchase a Diablo toy after seeing that show. One of the highlights.

The Lego store at downtown Disney was a great place to visit. Mom and I spent hours wandering around and bought super cute memorabilia. Cheers to Ryan!

I made it!

After hundreds of self inflicted roadblocks, I have finally started my very own blog! I have made every excuse in the book (I'm not funny enough, creative enough, I don't have time, etc...) to not post. Fact of the matter is- I AM interesting and enjoy sharing my interests, pics, and finds with other interesting folks. I faced my fear- here I come!
